Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “harming young minds” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
